PAGE Indonesia: A Stocktaking Report (Available in English Only)

The PAGE Indonesia Stocktaking Report provides a comprehensive overview of Indonesia’s transition toward a green economy, under the Partnership for Action on Green Economy (PAGE). The report aims to map existing economic, social, and environmental policies, review ongoing initiatives, identify key stakeholders, and assess gaps and opportunities to support green economy implementation in Indonesia. It is based on desk reviews and consultations with government institutions—particularly Bappenas—as well as development partners.

A central focus of the report is the Low Carbon Development Initiative (LCDI), which integrates environmental considerations such as emissions reduction and resource sustainability into national development planning (RPJMN). The study highlights that Indonesia has made strong progress in aligning economic growth with sustainability goals, with LCDI scenarios showing potential for high GDP growth, job creation, and significant emissions reductions. However, the report also identifies key challenges, including institutional fragmentation, limited data systems, capacity gaps, and the need for stronger financing mechanisms.

Based on this assessment, the report outlines priority areas for PAGE support, including strengthening policy implementation, enhancing data and modelling systems, supporting local governments, mobilizing private sector engagement, and improving knowledge sharing. Overall, the document serves as a strategic baseline to guide PAGE Indonesia’s interventions in supporting the implementation of LCDI and advancing an inclusive green economy transition in Indonesia.
