Site Visit Series Part 1: Xanadu Surf & Yoga Hotel Lombok - Committing Sustainable Tourism
Lombok, Indonesia - In the idyllic setting of Lombok-Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB) Province, especially in the southern part of Central Lombok Regency, Xanadu Surf & Yoga Hotel is a shining example of how luxury and sustainability can coexist harmoniously. During a recent site visit by PAGE Indonesia project personnel, including a meeting with Mr. Utsav Palden Sharma, the co-founder of Xanadu Surf & Yoga Hotel, several key initiatives that underscore the hotel’s commitment to sustainable tourism were highlighted.
With Kuta Mandalika area in the southern part of Central Lombok Regency has become Indonesia’s strategic project for tourism, the area will soon see a rapid development of tourism, just like its sister island of Bali a few decades back. It is indeed a momentum to encourage sustainable tourism practices in the area, which equally contribute to local economy, local communities, and the environment.
