Policy Recommendation Rapid Assessment on the Effectiveness of Green Stimulus in the Waste Sector (Available in English Only)

Waste problem has become a national problem in Indonesia. The growth of waste generation has made the government of Indonesia put tremendous efforts to deal with waste problem. The GoI has release several government regulations and initiatives to ensure waste generation is reduced and properly managed. In addition, the GoI also ratify the 2030 SDGs target in which waste problem is one of SGDs target. However, the effort seems deficient enough because the waste still increasing and scattered in public places. According to Minstry of Environmental and Forestry (MoEF), Indonesia waste generation 67.8 million tons1 in 2020 and it is predicted to increase as the population of Indonesia grow while the capacity of waste sector management is not improved.
